Jada Henry's 'Dancing Angels'

My piece titled 'Dancing Angels' is a piece based on painting and collage. The depth in my piece is created by the multiple layers of color on the angels, the shading in the wings/ribbons, and the lines in the background. Using Complementary Colors, I painted/collaged the items against black surroundings to make the items pop. Both angels are painted using cool color, whiles the lines behind the two angels are collaged with warm colors. I designed my piece to have two objects, but in two opposite places giving my artwork asymmetrical balance and a sense of harmony. I used a mixture of shiny paper with matt paper to give two different feels. I worked tediously with the little details, for example, I had to paint around the swirls of the clothes with black. The small things take a lot of time, but it helps give depth to the artwork.
