I used many things to create depth in this piece such as adding rows of trees and painting the pond in such a way that it recedes back. I carefully placed different elements and considering the overall composition. My piece has many different values of color. I used the color wheel to pick complementary colors for the grass and sky. I designed my piece with balance and harmony through collage and painting. I tried to create texture with the collage and different painting techniques. I found inspiration from an art piece I saw on the New Orleans expedition. The artist used a similar collage style and also used silhouettes.
