Alyssa's Typography Project

The words in the heart are a mixture of things describing me and my life and my hobbies. The idea for the wings comes from my favorite book series, although these aren't the same type of wings as those ones.

  1. I think typography should express the general feeling of what it is saying.
For example, Helvetica is a straight and simple font, which makes it easy for everybody to read. This is one reason why you see it so often. Times New Roman is also a generic font, but it is just a bit fancier and so it is used for more formal writing. Other fonts seem to express either the name of the font or the feeling you would have as you wrote using it.
I think my project is expressive with its typography because the more the words stand out or catch your eye, the more important I felt they were in your viewing experience. They all wrap around a letter 'A' for my name inside of a heart, symbolizing my love for those things inside. The writing itself is simpler and straight so it is possible to read it.
One thing I could've done better is make all the words just a bit darker so they were more visible.
Thank you for reading my insights on typography and my project!
